The homeland of the Dyk-Mill
The Woodquarter

In this charmed region - where there is little traffic and almost no industry - meadows, woodlands, and rich fields form the landscape. Here the earth, water, and air are still unspoiled. This is likely the reason why the majority of Austrias’ organic farmers feel at home in this land.

The Dyk Families milling tradition dates back to 1881. Since then it has been passed on in unbroken succession from generation to generation. Since 1970 the miller and inventor Peter Dyk stewards the international company together with his wife Lydia. Lately their daughter Lisa has joined them with much engagement and enthusiasm.

Developments and products

In the early 70’s the Organic-Pioneer Peter Dyk developed a revolutionary new milling process, which allows the gentle processing of wholemeal flour while at the same time preserving it for months (further information). The Dyk-Mill was also the first company that milled grain from controlled organic farming.

Based on this new milling procedure the Compact Milling System (CMS) was developed. This unique short-milling system is being installed ready for operation in two containers. Due to its unrivalled mobility, simple handling and low investment costs the CMS is perfectly suited for the use in developing countries, or any location where decentralised production is favourable ( further information: www.cms-milling.com).

In 1990 the Dyk-Mill invested in an extruder. This was the beginning for the development of a number of new product ranges. Different kinds of swell-flour are being produced for the baking industry (further information: baking additives) and also a delicious variety of organic snacks(further information: snacks).

Today the Dyk-Mill represents a modern international top-company that produces a wide range of innovative products, runs a milling research facility and expands in international trade relations.
