An evening that brings tradition and history together in an inspiring way.

On June 18, 2026, the presentation “History of the Mills in the Upper Thaya Valley” took place in the Raiffeisenbank hall in Waidhofen/Th—this time as part of the “Waldviertler Energie Stammtisch”—and was once again very well received. 

Lisa Dyk hosted the evening. Erich Kerschbaumer discussed regional history, Reinhard Bentz explained mill drive technology, and Gunther Scheubrein demonstrated how light came to the Thaya Valley. Master miller Hannah Eisner presented the differences in milling methods then and now.

A thoroughly researched and richly illustrated book on the “Geschichte der Mühlen am Oberlauf der Thaya” was presented and is currently available at Trafik Tauber in Raabs/Th.

On an event for Small- and Medium sized businesses, organized by Lobby der Mitte (center lobby), 35 outstanding individuals from the world of business, media and associations came together to marvel at, discuss and celebrate the theme middle and middle class.

The afternoon focused on the question why such an important group in society, the middle class, is so ignored, disadvantaged and exploited by the Austrian State, in political parties, legislative and executive institutions, such as parliament, state parliaments, administration, chambers and associations, that it is in danger of losing its vitality and productivity. To this question, answers and solutions were provided.

Organic & Biodynamic Grain Harvest Completion 2025

SCHNIDAHAU! It’s done.

Another harvest is over.

After a long wait and a rainy July, we have now filled our grain silos with organic and biodynamic grain from our regional organic farmers.

According to the organic farmers, the yields per hectare are very good and of high quality. Fortunately, we had no problems with ergot, vetch, or rotten batches this year.

Organic & Demeter grain takeover harvest 2025

We start Monday – Friday in the morning at 07:30 and finish the takeover (at the latest at 22:00) after the last registration of the farmers, or if there is no registration Monday-Thursday at 17:00 and on Friday at 11:30.
